India vs South Africa T20 series started on a rainy day. Rains washed out the first match of the 3 match T20 series and the fans had to wait longer. However, the second T20 lived up to the expectations of the fans and resulted in an easy win for India.
India won the toss and elected to bowl first on the Mohali pitch. This pitch has always been a good pitch for chasing down totals. The Proteas started off on a high note in the batting department. The captain Quinton De Kock scored a half century and it seemed to be sailing smoothly until the last 10 overs. Indian bowlers showed their prowess and restricted the South African batsmen to a mere total of 149. The average total in the first innings on Mohali is 185.
We wouldn’t say that the South African batsman did much wrong but it was the Indian bowlers who did it right. Deepak Chahar, Navdeep Saini, Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar all bowled well and stopped the South African initial rampage. It will be exciting to watch Rahul Chahar get an opportunity in the upcoming match. India’s main bowlers are rested and yet Indian bowlers dominated the Proteas’ batsmen. This speaks volumes of Indian dominance in the bowling department.
What do we even say about the Indian batting side? Indian batting has been top class since a very long time. Indian batsman made the chase look so simple that there was not a single moment when it felt like South Africa had a chance in the second half.
The India vs South Africa series will end with the third match at Bengaluru. This T20 series is mainly keeping in view the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia in 2020. We wish good luck to Team India.
